The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League handed out their weekly award winners and one member of the Yorkton Terriers was rewarded.

Defenceman and Humboldt product Thomas Ries was named the league’s Rookie of the Week.

The 18 year old had one goal & two assists in the Terriers 6-5 victory over the Nipawin Hawks last Tuesday night in their lone game of the week.

Ries sits second in scoring among rookie defencemen with 19 points in 26 games.

Other weekly award winners included: Melfort’s Ashton Hutchinson (MVP), Nipawin’s Conor Ryan (Defenceman), Angelo Zol (Goalie) and Ethan DeKay (Forward) of Weyburn & Nipawin Hawks forward Ashton Tait (Sask. Player of the Week).
