The Wood Buffalo Community Foundation (WBCF) is announcing the recipients of their 2023 community grants.

The foundation is awarding six local not-for-profit groups $211,000 to support community projects and educate individuals and families on financial stability.

“Many folks are dealing with financial instability right now,” says Gaylene Weidlich, WBCF Executive Director.

The local charities receiving these grants will be able to assist residents with navigating through tight times – programs such as the Food Bank’s where people learn how to cook tasty meals within a budget; and BGC’s which provide youth the tools to learn how to budget and save money.”

The recipients of the WBCF 2023 Community Grants are:

  • Fuse Social
  • Autism Society of Fort McMurray
  • St. Aiden’s Society
  • Boys and Girls Club of Fort McMurray
  • Girls Inc.
  • Wood Buffalo Food Bank

This is the sixth year in which the WBCF has supported local not-for-profit groups through grant funding. Since 2017 WBCF has delivered nearly $1.7 million dollars to organizations in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.
