Athabasca RCMP are investigating a residential fire that occurred last week.

RCMP, Athabasca Fire, and Associated Ambulance responded to the fire on September 9, 2023, at 2:35 a.m.

Multiple vehicles and the residence were on fire upon arrival.

The family of seven, with the youngest being a one year old child, escaped the fire unharmed.

Fire investigators and RCMP Forensics Unit examined the scene and the fire is currently considered suspicious.

The words “Go Home” were seen spraypainted on the garage door in a photo supplied by RCMP of the fire.

Anyone with information in relation to the fire or to identify those responsible, are asked to call the Athabasca RCMP at 780-675-5122.
