Wood Buffalo RCMP and the Alberta Major Crimes Unit are investigating a suspicious death along Gregoire Lake.
RCMP alongside Fort McMurray Fire and EMS responded on Sept.14 at 9:30 p.m. to a call for assistance.
A deceased male was found along the lake upon arrival.
The male was taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s office who determined the death as a homicide.
RCMP is releasing the name and photo of the deceased in hopes that the public can provide tips for the investigation.
17-year-old Keelin Kortzman has been identified as the deceased in the case.
Police are also seeking to speak to or request dashcam footage from individuals travelling in the area.
Footage is being requested from drivers travelling on Thursday, Sept. 14 between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Highway 881 through Fort McMurray 468 First Nation (Gregoire Lake Reserve), and Anzac.
