A paraglider got the surprise of a lifetime while soaring over Egypt’s Great Pyramid of Giza—he spotted a dog chilling on top of the 455-foot structure! On October 14, Alex Lang noticed some movement on the ancient wonder and, upon closer inspection, realized it was a dog casually roaming around. The pup even took a peek over the edge, probably checking out the view (or barking at the birds).

How the dog got up there is a mystery, but it quickly became an internet sensation, with viewers cracking jokes. One commenter said, “None of his dog friends are going to believe this!” while another suggested the dog might actually be Anubis, the Egyptian god of the afterlife, guarding the tombs. A third quipped that the dog seemed more interested in pyramid research than humans. Adventure athlete Marshall Mosher added that the dog seems to live there and invited everyone to join the next paramotor event to catch another glimpse of the canine climber.
