Bear that damaged luxury cars turns out to actually be a person in a bear suit.

California has seen its share of bears breaking into cars. But bears caught on camera entering luxury cars tipped off insurers that something wasn’t quite right.

“Operation Bear Claw” is what California Insurance Department is calling it when they said four LA residents were arrested recently, accused of defrauding three insurance companies out of almost $145,000 by claiming a bear had caused damage to their luxury cars.

There is footage shows a bear moving inside a Rolls-Royce and two Mercedes but something seemed…off. Photos provided by the insurance department show scratches on the seats and doors. After executing a search warrant, detectives found the bear costume in the suspects’ home. How does this conversation between 4 people actually come to frution? Who do they decide has to purchase the suit and then who has to be the one to actually wear it? Wild times.
