-The federal government stepped in to end the lockouts at the Ports in B.C. and Montreal.

-Harvest Grain Limited is getting into the pulse and specialty grain market, amid tough times.

-Canola and wheat futures went into a downward trend this week.

-The Saskatchewan NDP unveiled its Shadow Cabinet ahead of the return to the Legislature on November 25. The panel looks at it from an agricultural perspective with Leader Carla Beck appointing herself as Ag Critic and Rural Affairs, Intergovernmental Affairs and Executive Council, and chose Trent Wotherspoon to be the Deputy Ag Critic in addition to his role as Critic of Finance and Sask. Crop Insurance Corporation.

-Reaction of an amendment made by the Senate Foreign Affairs and International Trade Committee to Bill C-282. The private members’ bill would exempt supply managed sectors from trade negotiations but the amendment make it not apply to existing trade agreements. Leaders of the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) and the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance (CAFTA) weighed in on the matter.
