Regina’s Koen Senft of the Flin Flon Bombers scored twice, and Canada West picked the perfect time for its first win, downing Canada East 5-2 to win the bronze medal at 2024 Junior A World Challenge in Camrose, Alberta.
Lumsden’s Ellis Mieyette also chipped in with one goal, one assists while Jack Plandowski and Garrett Thom also scored for Canada West.
Sean Cootes made 30 saves on 32 shots in the Canada West net.
Humboldt Broncos forward Connor Miller, Kindersley defenceman Jaxon Herchak and Flin Flon Bombers defenceman Luke Lepper were also members of the West roster, while Flin Flon Bombers bench boss Mike Reagan served as Head Coach, Broncos Assistant Coach Carter Hansen was Video coach and Lampman product Nigel Dube is the team’s Director of Operations.
Meanwhile representing the MJHL on Canada West included Waywayseecappo Wolverines forward Dru Mushumanski, Steinbach Pistons duo of Reece Gault and Jackson Kostiuk, Marlen Edwards of the NorMan Blizzard and Niverville’s Avery Laliberte.
