Wood Buffalo RCMP seized three suspicious parcels containing suspected cocaine between August and December 2024, all headed to Fort Chipewyan. On August 27, a parcel with 7 grams of cocaine was seized at McMurray Aviation.

Fort McMurray’s Leon Belanger, 38, faces trafficking charges and appears in court January 14, 2025. On September 9, another parcel with 89 grams of cocaine was seized.

That investigation continues. On December 10, a parcel with 73 grams of cocaine led to charges against Fort Chipewyan’s August Marcel, 28, who appears in court February 25, 2025. Anyone with information is asked to contact Wood Buffalo RCMP.
